Our Story

Sensolia is a new clinic founded by two doctors with extensive medical expertise: Elise Dubuc and Nathalie Leroux. Both Elise and Nathalie have discovered that being doctors is the work of a lifetime and represents the distillation of their experiences. To properly treat someone requires the engagement of all of their intellect, training, intuition, and empathy. In Elise’s case, as both of her parents worked in the social services, caring for others was one of the first lessons she learned. In Nathalie’s case, strong women supporting one another forms a core part of her lineage.

For both Nathalie and Elise, in essence, it is all about care.

Care results in deep professional engagement. During Elise’s medical studies, she interned in France and Rwanda, focusing on gynecology and women’s health. Today she continues to champion women’s health by being involved in several organizations leading the fight against female genital mutilation. Nathalie has taken an active role during the pandemic. She represents the Federation of Medical Specialists of Quebec on the National Medical Reassignment Committee (a ministerial committee assembled specially during COVID). Dedicated to the medical community, Nathalie also frequently gives medical conferences for specialists and general practitioners. As a medical expert for many law firms and for the College of Physicians of Quebec, she advocates for quality medicine.

Family and friends are first and foremost in their personal lives. Both have travelled extensively; Nathalie with her daughters and husband, Elise with her son, and husband. Both doctors also love eating well, cooking, theatre, literature, and hiking. Nathalie loves art, reading, knitting, and pastels.

In their practice, every day they have the privilege of interacting deeply with their patients, intentionally creating a space of trust, communication, and empathy. Because of their experiences both here and abroad, they know that while women everywhere share physical similarities, each body may require its own solutions when problems arise.

This is why the opening of Sensolia feels inevitable for them. As Montreal’s finest private gynecology clinic, they have the expertise, tact, and medical mastery to diagnose conditions which many may be embarrassed to discuss. They have the latest in scientific innovation as therapeutics to help alleviate suffering. And best of all, they do it because they really care.
